- 1.5 pounds Cortland apples
- 3/4 cup flour
- 3/4 cup dark brown sugar
- 1/2 tsp. cinnamon
- 1/2 tsp. ginger
- 3/4 cup margarine, softened
- 3/4 cup rolled oats
- 1/2 cup chopped walnuts

Preheat oven to 350.

Grease an 8x8-inch baking pan.

Peel, core and slice apples; place in pan.

Mix flour, brown sugar, cinnamon and ginger in a bowl.

Mix in margarine until coarse crumbs form.

Stir in oats and walnuts.

Sprinkle over apples./p>
Bake for 35 minutes until apples are tender and crumb topping is crisp. Serve warm or cool.
Note: Recipe can easily be doubled. Bake in a 9x13 inch pan.
Tip: If baking in a glass dish, always back on the TOP rack of the oven to avoid burning.
Suggestion: You may want to put 1/3 or 1/2 of the crumbs at the bottom of the pan, then layer apples, then add the remaining crumbs.

This recipe is really a meal on its own but we'll put in desserts!
The ingredients may scare you, but go for it! It is delish :)
Green Smoothie
1/2 cup frozen spinach, no need to defrost completely
1/2 avocodo, peeled
1 banana
1 pear, peeled, cored
1 cup freshly squeezed grapefruit juice (approx 1.5 grapefruit)
Put it all in to blender.
Blend until smooth
Decorate with a nice straw and umbrella
Eat almost all your veggie and fruit nutrients for the day
This is great to serve as individual portions.
Chocolate mousse
2/3 c chocolate chips
¼ c milk
1 Tbsp sugar
½ tsp vanilla
½ c chilled whipping cream
Melt chocolate, milk, and sugar.
Mix until smooth.
Stir in vanilla.
Cool to room temperature.
Beat whipping cream until stiff.
Carefully fold chocolate mixture into whipped cream until blended.
Pour into individual small cups or into a ready-made pie crust.
Shave baking chocolate, slice a strawberry, or use mint springs for decoration
Refrigerate until set.
